Grahammers at 2.5 years

Age: 2.5 Years

Stats: 31 lbs, 10 oz (50-75th %), 36 inches tall (50th%) Always pretty average.

Clothes: 2T

Favorite Foods: Granola balls- he beggggggs for these things. We don't give him many desserts, so this is his favorite sweet treat. Any fruit-- blueberries and strawberries seem to be his favorite, but really he just devours any fruit. He also loves chicken, grilled cheese, and yogurt. He's a pretty good eater overall and doing wayyyyy better on veggies now. He's not a huge fan, but will willingly eat some now (without being hidden). Sweet potatoes and peas are the easiest for him. And he gets spinach smoothies and carrot muffins all the time.

Words: He's finally taken off with his vocabulary. He seemed to be a late talker, and my pediatrician recommended we have him evaluated by First Steps at his 2 year checkup. Between the holidays/ traveling/ paperwork, it was about 6 weeks before they actually evaluated him. And they said he was fine! Whew. He finally started putting two-word phrases together, now repeats almost anything, and speaks in simple sentences. My favorite is to overhear him in his crib, jabbering to himself before he falls asleep. Lots of times he just randomly will list off his favorite things... "carousel... Chet... Cori... Liam... MOPS... bus... teddy..." Bahahaha. He also has a love-hate relationship with appliances/ anything that make loud noises. So several times a day, we will go through that list- "all done vacuum?" "dada all done drill?" "mama all done blender?" etc. He also lives all day in the fear of going to bed, and he knows Owen takes more naps than him, so he's constantly saying, "Owen night-night! Graham play!" My favorite thing lately has been in response to the fact that I've been trying to help him transition from one activity to another without meltdowns, but telling him when we're going to leave a place in "two minutes." Now when we arrive at a place he really loves (a friend's house, the gardens, etc.), he'll immediately look at me and say, "no minutes! no minutes!" because he doesn't want the warning that we're leaving soon! Hahahaha. He's also singing along to songs now, which is completely adorable.

Activities: Pool. Splash pad. Music class. MOPS. Grocery shopping. Children's Museum. Playdates. Parks. Gardens.

Favorite Things: The CAROUSEL. Seriously obsessed. Splash pads. I think he is finally outgrowing his love of buckets. He is moving onto playing with actually toys- he loooooooves stacking blocks into "big tower!", making food in his play kitchen, pushing buses and trucks. Still loving musical things. We were in the car the other day for an hour and he requested "Oh How He Loves Us" the entire way, over and over again. He's also in love with "Wheels on the Bus" and asks Nonnie to sing it for him anytime we talk to her on the phone. He LOVES being outside still- swinging, sliding, climbing, walking, digging in dirt, whatever. Still adores Teddy. Thinks Owen is the best. Favorite books are getting longer- Berenstain Bears cars book, Are You My Mother, etc. He loves standing on anything and declaring himself "tall!!!"

Mom's Proudest Moment: Being brave enough to jump in the pool the first time near the water this summer!!

Dad's Proudest Moment: Graham singing along to hymns with him. Andrew has sung hymns over this boy since day one, and they have been our go-to for him during times of fussyness, for us to remember God's grace during hard moments of parenting, and just wanting to pass on a legacy of tuning our hearts to God's faithfulness through worship. It has been such a joy for us both to hear Graham's voice start singing right along.

O baby at 10 months

Weight: He was 20 lbs, 7 oz at his 9 month checkup, so a little more than that now, I'm sure. BIG BOY.

Height: No idea.

Clothing size: He's mostly in 12 months, but his torso is so long, any one-piece clothing he now is wearing 18 months! The first 18 month romper I put him in, I almost died remembering that's what Graham was wearing WHEN WE BROUGHT OWEN HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL. This kid is going to catch up to his big brother in no time.
Graham asked to stop in the middle of a walk
around the neighborhood to give Owen a hug.
PRESH.

Diaper size: Cloth. I should probably just take this one off. Let's be serious- I never know their real size.

Feeding: Still making slow but steady progress with solids!!! Someone throw me a party. He's eating about 10 oz. of pureed/ mashed food a day now. He's still not big on non-pureed food, but he'll eat a few bites of cheese/ Puffs/ cereal every day. AND WE'RE DOWN TO FOUR NURSING SESSIONS A DAY. People, this is BIG. I feel like a new woman.
Still trying to figure out the sippy cup.
Sleeping: Down to 2 naps a day now. He really did it on his own, so it was a pretty smooth transition. Still sleeping roughly 7p-7a every night.

Milestones: 5 teeth now! He's super squirmy all the time, and trying to scoot- but hasn't really figured it out yet. He scoots backwards some, which is what Graham did too, before he learned to crawl.

Likes: BATHS. He squeals and shrieks and laughs the WHOLE TIME. I think since he can sit up well, be with Graham, and splash- he's totally started loving it. It's seriously his favorite time of the whole day. I can't wait to see him in a pool this summer.

Dislikes: Graham taking toys from him. Not being able to move. Teething.

Adventures: Music class. Lots of walks to neighborhood hot spots. Backyard play. Mother's Day.

Always making each other laugh. LOVE THEM.

Mother's Day with these cuties.

Snuggles with Daddy.

G showing O the ropes at Music Class.

Loving the Community Gardens.
What we couldn't live with out: Ergo. Double stroller.

Best part of parenting this age: I love seeing Graham and Owen's relationship developing. They really are little best friends already. Totally adorable.

His crooked little grin gets me every time.

Hardest part of parenting this age: I think this has been his fussiest month yet... Lots of crying over teething and not being able to move. :(

O baby at 9 months

Weight: 20 lbs, 7oz.

Height: No idea.

Clothing size: All 12 months now. Big boy.

Diaper size: Cloth.

Feeding: Making progress on solids, finally! He eats about 4 oz of pureed fruits/ veggies every day now. Not interested in bits of food from our plates yet, but I'm so happy to make any kind of progress. Nursing 5 times/ day. Roughly- 7am, 10:30am, 2pm, 5pm, 7pm. (Finally dropped the 10pm feeding this past week.) It's pretty funny to nurse this age of baby, who is always wiggling and playing with his feet and laughing all while nursing.

Sleeping: 3 naps now, but I think he'll drop his last one this month. It keeps getting shorter. Sleeping roughly 7pm-7am every night. He mostly flips to his belly to sleep now, but occasionally will fall asleep on his back still.

Milestones: 3rd tooth! (top right) Sitting really well. (Not even trying to crawl or anything yet- every time I put him on his tummy, he immediately rolls to his back. I'm wondering if he'll be one of those butt-scooters. Ha.) He's saying "dadadadad" and "mamamama" now, not in relation to us, but he's making the sounds. I like it. He claps. And we're completely done with spit-up! Whew. Owen wasn't as bad as Graham about it, but I am more than happy to pack those burp cloths away.

Likes: BEING HELD. He is seriously incredibly spoiled for a second child in this area. Attacking any toy, or really anything, near him. He's really aggressive when he wants something. Stroller walks. Being outside. Graham. Being tickled, surprised, animated faces and voices.

Dislikes: Not being held. Being ignored. Being tired. Anything not pureed to eat. Toys out of his reach.

Adventures: Outside!! Swings, backyard, stroller walks, community gardens, parks. Double-seater at the grocery store. Easter. Playdates with friends. Music class. MOPS.

Happy Easter!

What we couldn't live with out: Ergo. Double stroller.

Best part of parenting this age: I just love him. His smiles and giggles are the BEST.
Besties. Owen and Lewis were born just one day apart!
A man came up and asked if they were twins. :)

Keepin it real playdate. :)
Max is exactly one month older than Owen,
and Chet is exactly one month younger.
Love all these little buddies.

Hardest part of parenting this age: He's been pretty fussy lately- not sure if it's from teething or being frustrated he can't move, but it has not been his happiest of days the last week or so.

Owen at 8 months

Weight: I'm guessing around 19 lbs right now? We'll find out next month at his well baby checkup.

Height: No idea.

Clothing size: Moved him up to 12 months pajamas (and wanted to cry a little), but the rest still 9 months.

12 month pj's :(

Diaper size: Cloth.

Feeding: Still pretty much the same. Nursing on this rough schedule- 7, 10.30, 2, 5, 7, 10. I'd love to drop a feeding but we are still not having much luck with solids. This kid is just not a fan. Looking into the baby-led weaning philosophy, which is probably where we're at anyway with all of this. But can I just say I want to throw a party for making it 8 months nursing this one?! Breastfeeding is one of the hardest things I've ever done, and the days of Graham not gaining weight still haunt me. So incredibly thankful we've made it this far with Owen. Hoping for 4 more months!
Looks so big sitting in the highchair!!!

Sleeping: Settled now into 3 naps, and more confident that he's on track with what his body needs.

Milestones: He's sitting a lot better now, but still needs support or he'll topple over. First bath with Graham. First stroller ride without the carseat.

Likes: Being held and walked around. The Ergo- he smiles so big at me every time I start strapping him in. Ha. Graham. More interested in toys now- anything he can chew on.

Dislikes: Not being held-- he really is spoiled rotten when it comes to this. Oopsie. Solid foods. Carseat.

Adventures: Being outside again!!!! Andrew took both boys out alone for the first time-- to the tool shop. :) Playdates. Children's Museum.

#boytime
We love Chet baby!

What we couldn't live with out: The Ergo. Double stroller. The Boppy pillow is super helpful not only for nursing still, but also to support him as he learns to sit on his own.

Best part of parenting this age: I just love it. And it's even better now that we can go outside!!!!! SUNSHINE!!!!
Presh.

Oopsie.

First carousel ride

Hardest part of parenting this age: Having the capacity for anything else. So I usually just don't. Love my babies. :)

G/O at 8 months- starting to look alike!!
